I love to draw. Drawing led me to a degree in drafting, then to Sci-Arc Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles to study deconstructivism. Non-linear design thinking was prescribed there, and in our experimentation using unconventional materials we also combined diverse inspirations in unusual ways. Complemented by creative writing, figure drawing and sumi painting with master artist Yoshio Ikesaki, my time at Sci-Arc sparked an intense curiosity and a drive to create.

I have continued with this exploratory approach as I make works in oil paint and inks, in glass and with textiles. Drawing remains the genesis I use to uncover fresh expression abstractly and figuratively. My inspirations, always, are my connections: to nature, to my artist community, to my family, to my friends, to the places I travel and to the people I meet. I’m honored and delighted to be here to share my work with you.
