@WANAVENTURE:

DRAWING led me to the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc) in Los Angeles, where I studied the architecture and art of deconstructivism—an expressive language of fractured forms and conflicting geometries.

IMMERSED in non-linear design thinking and in the practice of combining unconventional materials, I developed an enduring curiosity and a persistent drive to create.

DURING my time at Sci-Arc, I was fortunate to study sumi-e painting with renowned artist Yoshio Ikesaki. This experience ignited a lasting interest in pairing traditional sumi techniques with unexpected mediums and surfaces—oils, acrylics, and inks layered over clay, canvas and birch board.

YEARS of additional study with master artists, both en plein aire and in the studio, have expanded and deepened my artist vocabulary. These influences have allowed me to experiment freely as I pursue that elusive element of life and soul—the universal thread that connects us all through art.
