I love to draw. Drawing led me to a degree in drafting then to Sci-Arc Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles to study deconstructivism. Non-linear design thinking was prescribed there, and in our experimentation using unconventional materials we combined often disparate inspirations. Adding in creative writing, figure drawing and sumi painting with master artist Yoshio Ikesaki, my time there sparked a curiosity and a drive to create.

I have continued with this experimental approach as I make works of art in paint, glass, inks and textiles. Drawing remains the genesis I use to uncover something fresh and unseen abstractly and figuratively. My inspirations, always, are my connections: to my artist community, to my family, to my friends. I’m honored to be here to share my work with you.
